DMSO (Dimethyl Sulfoxide) is a highly polar, aprotic solvent recognized for its unique ability to dissolve both polar and nonpolar compounds, including water-insoluble substances like fats and oils. First synthesized in 1866 by Russian scientist Alexander Zaytsev and later popularized by American researcher Dr. Stanley W. Jacob in 1959, DMSO is available in 20-liter pails or by the pallet from 12 to 48 pails, DMSO is labelled and sold as a technical-grade solvent.
